Relationships Australia NT (RA:NT) can give advice on how to start age-appropriate conversations about abuse in First Nations languages as well as English and other community languages.
They also offer support from Aboriginal staff, and if they don’t speak your language, they can book an interpreter who does. If you are a person who is deaf, they can book an Auslan interpreter.
Their Specialist Elder Abuse Service also provides other support and resources to
resolve or prevent family conflict in ways that aim to improve relationships
have ‘difficult conversations’ and improve communication skills
reduce the risk of abuse, exploitation, or neglect
